No they're not. With new shop fits, clear store front windows, air conditioning and comfortable seating in many, the days of the old dingy stereotype betting shop are very much history at William Hill.
Call Centres are high pressure, soulless, telesales factories.
Not at William Hill. People from all over the UK call you. YOU won't have to telesell anything. All we ask is that you help our customers share the William Hill experience, taking their bets - in what is a professional, yet open and friendly, team environment.
I don't know much about sport and even less about betting - I wouldn't understand a thing!
Yes you would. We give you the best (regarded by many as industry leading) training before you start and a comprehensive ongoing training scheme to ensure that you're comfortable with the 'day-to-day' and developing your understanding of the job - at a pace that you're comfortable with.
Do I need to know how to work out odds?
No. You will need to be competent with basic maths, but most of the rest is done on computers or by your manager - and what you do need to know will be taught to you anyway.
Am I thrown in the deep end and left to get on with it?
No. As well as superb on-going training you'll work alongside an experienced colleague who will ensure that you progress as quickly as you are able/are confident to.
Does William Hill offer Careers or Jobs?
Either. We've got a great reputation for progressing able people quickly from within, but we also have a huge number of staff who enjoy being a Customer Service Assistant and want to stay as a Customer Service Assistant. It's really down to you. What we want is you to be happy doing what you're doing and being respected for it.
Will I be doing the same thing day in day out?
Not at all. Wherever you work in William Hill you'll find great variety in what you do and flexibility in how you can do it. Our staff interaction with our customers is hugely important to our business - as well as the enjoyment of what our staff do. Our shops and call centres have regulars as well as first time betters but if you're right for us then you'll enjoy creating the friendly atmosphere that makes William Hill what it is. It's really about great customer service.
